Tile Map Alchemist is Born!

Hi everyone!

A few weeks after presenting the proof of concept, I’m excited to share the latest progress on the map generator project. First things first: it now has an official name — Tile Map Alchemist.

After some consideration, I’ve decided to develop Tile Map Alchemist as a desktop application. This choice makes it much easier to export and integrate generated maps directly into existing RPG Maker MV/MZ projects.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been focusing primarily on building the terrain editor for outdoor maps, which is now largely complete. Here’s what it offers so far:

  • Automatic terrain generation: Select your terrain rules, click a button, and let the app do the work.

  • Manual fine-tuning: Prefer full control? You can manually tweak any part of the map to get things just right.

One of the core goals of Tile Map Alchemist is tile set flexibility. That means you're not locked into a specific visual style. You decide which tiles are used for each part of the map — total freedom to match your project's look and feel.

There’s a lot more to come! If you’re interested in the tool or have ideas or suggestions, feel free to drop a comment or message me — your feedback helps shape the future of the project.

Thanks for reading,
Jan
